Counting Blessings on Thanksgiving Day
I am blown away by the many things I have to be thankful for. Among them are:
- My Church. I feel blessed to be part of a congregation that strives to serve God and others, St. Mark United Methodist Church. We have several vibrant and active programs for infants, youth, adults, and seniors. Our Mens Bible Study group is spiritually enriching every time we meet.
- My Family and Friends. Thanksgiving dinner will be held at my Mom’s house this year. Always a wonderful time to remember the blessings in our lives and to give thanks to God.
- WisdomGroup. We celebrate our 14th anniversary on December 30th. I feel blessed to work with a great team and I love the way we challenge each other to perform at a higher level each day.
- The Boy Scouts of America. I spent my formative years as a member of Boy Scout Troop 534 “Hey!” and I became an Eagle Scout in 1978. Three decades later, I’m active with the Troop. What an opportunity for service and learning. Our Scoutmaster and the other adult leaders are driven to deliver an outstanding program for our youth. Solar panels and a 3G Internet connection keep me in touch with WisdomGroup when the Troop goes camping.
The list of blessings goes on, and I thank God for each and every one. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
