$75 Laptop from Pixel Qi

The former chief technology officer (CTO) of One Laptop Per Child has left the group to start a new venture, Pixel Qi. Their audacious goal: To create a $75 laptop.
New Venture
As CTO of OLPC, Mary Lou Jepsen was the inventor of the machine’s sunlight-readable display technology and co-inventor of its power-management system. Jepsen left OLPC to start Pixel Qi and develop a $75 laptop.
Bottom of the Pyramid
I have zero knowledge of the internal management workings of the OLPC group. But a rush to the bottom of the pyramid to produce a low-cost laptop? I’m all for it. And ventures like this are likely to make money, if theories like The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid prove successful. Doing well while doing good. What a wonderful idea.
