T. Boone Pickens ranks 117th on the Forbes list of richest Americans. Pickens made his fortune in the oil business. Now he wants to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and shift the country to wind farms, solar energy, and natural gas. Coincidentally, Pickens owns a very large natural gas company.
Spreading the Word With Technology
Pickens is promoting his energy ideas via television, a web site (PickensPlan.com), and social networking built on the Ning platform. It will be interesting to see how effectively he reaches the masses.
Green Profiteer?
Will Pickens profit from a shift away from foreign oil? Yes. And so will the rest of the country and the world. Sounds like a win/win arrangement to me.
