Just over a year ago, this blog shared the story of an inventor with a goal – To create an artificial human arm capable of lifting a grape without crushing it. Dean Kamen and his team at DEKA Research have achieved the goal.

When the Department of Defense first asked Kamen to develop the arm, he told them “You’re nuts. The technology doesn’t exist.” And then Kamen built a team to prove himself wrong. In time, the team developed some effective solutions.
