Amazon.com reports in a press release that the 2008 holiday season was the best in their 14-year history.

72.9 Purchases Per Second
Their busiest day was Dec 15, 2008 when the company sold 6.3 million items, a record-breaking 72.9 items per second.

What About Dollars?
Good question. The press release doesn’t mention dollar figures. No information on revenue or profits. Perhaps we will see the numbers in the company’s annual report.

WisdomGroup creates web sites and web-based software with Ruby on Rails and other tools.
