60 Minutes Overtime takes content that goes beyond the show’s regular format and re-purposes it for the web. After spending time creating the content, they might as well use it. Great idea!

In the pre-internet days of television, journalists were forced to fit their stories within the confines of the traditional news hour. Eveything else ended up on the cutting room floor. But news junkies want more!

What by products are being wasted in other businesses? Sixty years ago a clever entrepreneur turned a “useless” petroleum by product into tupperware. 60 Minutes Overtime could be considered the journalistic equivalent of tupperware.

What waste products from your business could be turned into revenue?

BTW, I’ve always been fan of 60 Minutes. So if this post sounds heavily biased in favor of the program… I’m guilty!
