Ruby on Rails, NoSQL, and mobile apps served here.
WisdomGroup leads ChicagoRuby, and we run conferences for our fellow developers: WindyCityRails (Ruby on Rails), WindyCityDB (NoSQL) and WindyCityGo (creating mobile apps). We offer the ChicagoRuby Job Board for anyone who wants to build or join a great software team.
ChicagoRuby is a group of Ruby on Rails enthusiasts. WisdomGroup assumed leadership of a local Ruby user group in 2007. We changed the group's name to ChicagoRuby, launched the first conference (WindyCityRails) in 2008, and in 2009 we merged with Chicago's other Ruby user group, Chirb. Today ChicagoRuby hosts multiple events each month, three annual conferences and the ChicagoRuby Job Board. The ChicagoRuby motto: When smart people challenge each other to grow, great things happen.
Mobile apps are used on-the-go, and WindyCityGo is for the creators of those apps. Presentations focus on iPhone, iPad, Android, & web-based mobile platforms. Groupon joined us as a top-level sponsor (at all three conferences) soon after we announced the first WindyCityGo in 2011. Presentation videos can be found on the WindyCityGo site.
WindyCityDB is all about NoSQL databases - new ways to store data efficiently & effectively. Community interest in NoSQL technology, combined with our own curiosity, caused WisdomGroup to launch the first WindyCityDB in 2010. WindyCityDB presents a wide spectrum of NoSQL technologies in one information-packed conference. Presentations are online: Videos from WindyCityDB 2011.
WindyCityRails is an annual gathering for all who are passionate about Ruby on Rails. The conference attracts people from many facets of the software industry: developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and investors. WindyCityRails gets consistently high marks from attendees, speakers, and sponsors. Presentation videos are available on the WindyCityRails site.
